Founder & General Partner

Kevin McQuillan

Kevin McQuillan is a distinguished alternative asset investor and five-time Forbes Midas List recipient, renowned for a track record that includes 27 IPOs and dozens of successful M&A exits. As the co-founder of Focus Ventures, he helped lead one of the highest-performing IRR funds in history, establishing a reputation for identifying and scaling high-conviction opportunities. His strategic vision has backed industry leaders like Upwork, Aruba Networks, and BitGo, while guiding portfolio companies through pivotal acquisitions by global giants such as Microsoft, PayPal, and Uber.

Currently, Kevin serves as a leader and partner at Sawtooth Equities, where he directs a diversified platform spanning venture capital, private equity, real estate, and private debt. His broader investment ecosystem includes roles at Peakview Capital, Focus Opportunity Fund, and OCA Ventures, with a focus on technical sectors like AI and cybersecurity. Beyond his direct investments, Kevin lends his expertise to the Western Michigan University Endowment Board, applying a philosophy rooted in operational discipline and technical validation to drive long-term growth across the global alternative asset landscape.

Chase McQuillan

Chase brings nearly a decade of frontline experience in enterprise software to Sawtooth Equities, offering a unique perspective on the technologies driving modern business efficiency. During his tenure at industry leaders Tipalti and FloQast, he partnered extensively with private equity and venture capital-backed portfolio companies to implement mission-critical accounting and AP automation platforms. By guiding high-growth organizations through the adoption of AI-driven financial technology, Chase helped them streamline complex workflows to unlock the EBITDA growth and operational scalability essential for mid-to-late-stage success.

He holds a degree in Business Administration and Entrepreneurship from the Fordham University Gabelli School of Business, where he developed the foundational expertise in corporate strategy that informs his investment approach today.

Chief Financial Officer

Tess Brown

Victor brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in the venture capital and finance sectors from his roles as CFO and as an Operating Officer at 4490 Ventures, Peninsula Ventures, Focus Ventures, and Dominion Ventures. Based in San Francisco, Victor oversees administration, compliance, financial and information reporting systems.
